Canadian Pacific to buy Kansas City Southern for $25B
Railway group, Canadian Pacific, has agreed to buy Kansas City Southern for 25-billion dollars, marking the largest takeover deal so far this year. The transaction values the US freight group at 275-dollars per share, accounting for a 23-percent premium on Friday's closing price. The acquisition will create a 32-thousand kilometre railway network linking the US, Mexico and Canada.
