The World Bank approved a $250 million credit from the International Development Association (IDA)* and a $10 million grant from the Energy Sector Management Assistance Program for a 4-year Ghana Energy Sector Recovery Program for Results (PforR). The PforR will support Ghana’s Energy Sector Recovery Programme (ESRP) to improve the financial viability of electricity distribution and increase access to clean cooking solutions

Inflation for the month of May 2024 slightly decreased to 23.1%. This is the lowest figure recorded since March 2022 which was 19.4%.The figure for May 2024 represents a decline of 1.95 percentage points from that of the month of April which was at 25.0% .

The Ghana Statistical Service's (GSS) recent Multidimensional Poverty Index (MPI) report has uncovered significant disparities in poverty rates within the Greater Accra Region. The Greater Accra region has a relatively low poverty rate of 11.7%, while the Savannah region recorded a starkly higher rate of 49.5%.
