Busting the Myth of Muhurtha- Introduction

Listen Later

What is a Muhurtha? Are we being superstitious when we look for a Muhurtha to get married or sanctify a new house or to name a baby? Come explore with me the logic behind this practice and enquire if it is based on Science.

The intention here is to Introduce the topic of Jyotisha and to understand if it is a field of knowledge or a superstition . As a novice, I will discuss the basis of this field and try to explain it, without going into too many details.

The objective of this series is to dispel the misconceptions regarding this ancient field and to help practicing hindus understand why they observe Jyotisha in the important moments of their lives. Modern education contradicts many traditional beliefs and Jyotisha is a field which has no modern equivalent for comparison. Western Astrology is very different from Indian one and Jyotisha is much more tha just astrology.
