Based on the 1946 William Lindsay Gresham novel of the same name, Nightmare Alley focuses on the career of Stanton "Stan" Carlisle (Bradley Cooper), who is as charismatic as he is ambitious. Stan leaves the local carnival for the big city with Mary Margaret "Molly" Cahill (Rooney Mara), and the pair quickly find themselves stepping out of their comfort zone. Filled with twists, and often twisted in it's own right... But Is Nightmare Alley Good?

We close out February with the Japanese film "Drive My Car." A subtle, nuanced, and emotional story about grief, regret, pain, love, loss, & everything in between. A widowed actor builds a relationship with a young driver, while they both navigate their respective grief. Ryusuke Hamaguchi's film is a slow boring piece, with intention in every single frame.
