When Enabling become Disabling

There are positive and negative aspects to enabling; however, no one should work harder on your issues or your life than you do. It is not healthy to consistently help someone who creates personal storms but cries out when it rains.  A form of negative enabling is to consistently assist, help, support or bail someone out in order that they may avoid the natural and unpleasant consequences of their actions. 

The Enabler - a person who encourages or enables negative or self-destructive behavior in another Enablers call it LOVE, (but it often comes from a place of guilt, fear, control and being compassionate to a fault) You can’t make someone better than they choose to BE!

Unfortunately, we probably all know someone who is trying to reach their goals and is struggling to gain the necessary support of those who claim to love them, or have their back. There is a reason why the rich stay rich and the poor stay poor.

A World & Life of Hypocrisy 

Hypocrisy is defined as the practice of claiming to have moral standards or beliefs to which one's own behavior does not conform. There seems to be a significant growth in this area of living.  People are on a daily basis judging others while rationalizing all that they do, what they believe in and their personal perceptions.  Matthew 7:5 reads:  You hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of your own eye; and then shall you see clearly to cast out the speck out of your brother's eye.

We all have found ourselves in the midst of our very own HYPOCRISY and we all fall short daily but how many are willing to call themselves out on their hypocrisy before or rather than calling others out on their stuff?

Society has become a major distraction for many leaving them greatly entertained and seemingly FILLED. 

But FILLED with what is the question... 

In spite of instant access to things and people; depression, divorce and suicide continue to rise, families and friends are increasingly disconnecting and wholesome conversations are a thing of the past.  Things are more valuable than people and wildlife more spiritually connected than humans.    

We have,

A house but no home

A job but no career

Relationships but no love

Instant access to the unimaginable, but no peace; no faith; no hope or meaning for life and no contentment

Back to the question, what are we filled with?

Dying to live ~ perhaps what you are filled with is holding you back?

BUYOUT OR SELLOUT

Often we find ourselves in situations where we are forced to make decisions that will perhaps challenge our motives or intensions as it relates to promoting awareness and authentic change. 

When someone is fighting for their rights or attempting to implement a movement that will forever change the dynamics of society, they may also find themselves being forced to make a decision to accept a BUYOUT which could leave them potentially being viewed as a SELLOUT. 

What is the difference in buyout and sellout?

How can we be sure that we are not selling out to ourselves and the overall good for society?

Has the nature of people made it easier to solve situations by and through payouts and or promotions?

A double standard is the application of different sets of principles for similar situations

It is most commonly seen as a decisive psychological tool used to defend one’s ego or subconscious from the shortcomings of one’s own set of values or contrasting principals. It is the employment of a hypocritical and biased standpoint, with which to separate the seemingly bad in others from the bad in self by having two sets of rules for the same concept.

Margaret Eichler, author of The Double Standard, explains that a double standard “implies that two things which are the same are measured by different standards”
