I started recording a conversation my wife and I were having with a very bright industry insider. We have conversations like this all the time. I figured I’d let you in on one.

A few well chosen jewelry pieces of quality are a better move than collecting boxes and boxes of crap. It saves money in the end. Quality is never out of style. “Good stuff ain’t cheap, and cheap stuff ain’t good.” (Pass it on. 😉)

Emotions are powerful as hell...don’t be afraid to use them...and move her!

”What’s my finger size?” It’s a simple question, but you wouldn’t believe how often jewelers and clients get it “wrong.” I sat down for a quick chat with Ali, our goldsmith, and Susan, one of our front line pro’s, to see if we could shed some light on the subject. I think we nailed it.

I decided to call the biggest online diamond joint and find out if I could SEE what I was buying BEFORE I gave them  my cash.  (I think you know what the answer was.)  Then I gave a call to some independent jewelers to find out what their policy is.   Bottom line: Mom and Pop Jewelry stores are WAY more in your corner than those faceless diamond mills online.  Independent jewelers invest in diamonds, and you, before you walk in the door.  (And we're there for you after you take ownership of your jewelry too!)

She may only be 12, but she says it pretty clearly. 2 carats to start?!
