When does remaining silent demonstrate spiritual maturity, and when does silence allow harmful behavior within the church to continue?”
That question gives the episode its depth, because humility isn’t always silence, and courage isn’t always confrontation.
When someone within the church speaks falsely about us, especially while we’re faithfully pursuing God’s calling, our instinct may be to confront, correct, or retaliate. But does humility require silence? Does defending ourselves mean we’re acting out of pride?
The real question is: How do we stand courageously for truth without allowing hurt to turn into retaliation?
In 1 Peter 2:23, Jesus shows us that refusing to retaliate is not weakness. He entrusted Himself to the One who judges righteously.
The Lion of Judah was neither powerless nor passive. He demonstrated that strength and humility can coexist.
The heart of this episode:
You don’t have to choose between being a lion and being humble. You can confront falsehood without becoming vindictive, protect your calling without attacking others, and trust God with your reputation without abandoning your responsibility to speak the truth.
What if sharing Jesus was as natural as living your everyday life?
In Day 9 of Disciples Made Here, we explore how our daily rhythms create opportunities to connect with people right where God has placed us. From coffee shops to grocery stores, everyday encounters can become meaningful conversations about faith.
Learn how to approach strangers with genuine curiosity, listen with intention, and naturally share the hope of Jesus without pressure or awkwardness.
Discipleship begins with relationships, and relationships begin with conversations.
You don’t have to force an opportunity. Just be willing to recognize one!
Sometimes God doesn’t take us out of the heat—He meets us in it.
In our latest **Grit and Grace** episode, **THE CRUCIBLE**, we talk about those seasons that test us, refine us, and teach us to lean harder into Jesus.
It’s another round of “Nextdoor in Your Neighborhood”—and DD and Heather have thoughts.
First up: e-bikes. Seriously, everybody. Get a grip.
Kids are flying through neighborhoods and intersections on powerful e-bikes, and DD and Heather ask the obvious question: parents… what are we doing?
They talk safety, responsibility, maturity, and common sense—then shift gears into something dangerous in a completely different way: bitterness.
Bitterness feels like something we hold against someone else, but over time it becomes poison we carry ourselves.
From neighborhood chaos to heart issues, this episode covers parenting, resentment, forgiveness, and the things we need to get a grip on before they get a grip on us.
DD and Heather ask some of the big questions Christians often use words for—but don’t always stop to define.
What is sin, really? Why does it matter? What is sanctification? And what happens when temptation is entertained long enough to take root?
In this episode, they talk about the gravity of sin, the slow work of becoming more like Christ, and the biblical warning that desire gives birth to sin—and sin, when fully grown, gives birth to death.
This isn’t about shame. It’s about understanding what sin does, why Jesus takes it seriously, and why sanctification matters in the life of a believer.
DD and Heather get honest about temptation, consequences, grace, growth, and the daily choice to keep surrendering the parts of ourselves that still need to change.
What happens when life gets hard—and instead of letting up, it gets even harder?
In today’s episode, we’re talking about circumstances that test everything: your patience, your faith, your relationships, your confidence, and even your ability to keep going. Sometimes the hardest part isn’t the first blow—it’s realizing another one may come before anything changes.
But harder does not mean hopeless.
This episode is about leaning on Jesus when life feels relentless, finding strength through grace without pretending everything is okay, and trusting that even our most difficult seasons can become a spiritual crucible.
As we endure, persevere, and press into God, the fire does not have to destroy us. It can refine our faith, strengthen our character, and purify us like gold.
If you’re carrying something heavy right now, this conversation is for you.
Friday Shenanigans is back as we unpack Day 8 of Disciples Made Here! Today we’re talking about the simple but powerful challenge of inviting your one person to coffee or lunch and intentionally spending time together. Discipleship doesn’t always begin with a Bible study—it often begins around a table.
We also tackle the danger of getting too big for your spiritual britches. Pride, criticism, and negative attitudes can quietly undermine our witness. The people around us—the curious, the skeptical, and even the mockers—are watching how we live long before they listen to what we say.
If our lives don’t reflect the grace, humility, and joy of Christ, we’re telling a story about the faith we profess that may not be true. Let’s be people whose character opens doors for the gospel, not closes them.
What if some of the things we call “alien encounters” have a different explanation altogether?
Join DD and Heather as they unpack this fascinating topic after listening to a podcast by #JoshHowerton. Together, they explore biblical perspectives, spiritual realities, and some thought-provoking questions about the unseen world.
DD also shares a personal childhood experience that will make you think twice—an encounter with what she called the “Invisible Man.”
Whether you believe in aliens, angels, demons, or you’re simply curious, one truth never changes: God is still in control.
Tune in for a conversation that will challenge your thinking and point you back to God’s truth.
In Part 2 of their conversation on obedience, Heather and DD take a deeper look at the incredible power and lasting value of saying “yes” to God. While obedience can sometimes feel costly or impossible, Scripture reminds us that God never asks us to walk alone. His grace not only forgives us—it empowers us to obey.
Together, they explore how obedience shapes our character, strengthens our faith, and opens the door for God to work in and through our lives. Discover why every act of surrender, no matter how small, becomes an opportunity to experience God’s presence, purpose, and transforming power.
When obedience feels impossible, God’s grace and the Holy Spirit make it possible.
DD and Heather continue their conversation about the power of obedience to God’s commands. At times, what God asks of us can seem impossibly difficult—a standard we could never meet in our own strength. But the Christian life was never meant to be lived by human effort alone. Join DD and Heather as they explore how the Holy Spirit empowers believers to walk in obedience, transforming God’s commands from an overwhelming burden into an invitation to experience His grace, strength, and victory.
