We are spending the summer studying the book of 1st John. In our “By This We Know” series, we are exploring all the ways that John reassured us in his letter that we can know we have eternal life through Jesus Christ. John’s first epistle blends a spectacular balance of both making us feel loved and calling us to live to a higher standard. In today’s sermon, we study 1 John 4 and the beauty of God’s transforming love. We look at the cycle of love and how it creates momentum in our lives to grow in God’s love and to share God’s love with others. We know we are children of God when we see this cycle of love at work in our lives.
