We are spending the summer studying the book of 1st John. In our “By This We Know” series, we are exploring all the ways that John reassured us in his letter that we can know we have eternal life through Jesus Christ. John’s first epistle blends a spectacular balance of both making us feel loved and calling us to live to a higher standard. In today’s sermon, we study 1 John 2 and the call to obedience as evidence of our faith. Like John before us, we do not want anyone to be deceived by the lie that our faith and our obedience are two different things - belief and behavior are always linked.
