In December of 2010 there was a fire that destroyed the old Provo Tabernacle. The fire caused an estimated $15 million in damage. The tabernacle was one of the oldest buildings in Utah. The Church started construction in 1883 and took 15 years to complete it. It was listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. After the fire, the only thing barely standing were the 4 outer walls. Time travel back to today and I still can’t believe that I am inside this old burned up tabernacle turned holy temple, house of the Lord. It’s a reminder to me that the Lord can work miracles in our lives, He can rebuild us if we let Him. He gives us so many chances, and He can make us better today than we were yesterday. He can make us Holy.

He still blessed all of the families in the scriptures and they are dysfunctional so He will continue to bless us too. 

If we let Him, He can turn our trials into triumphs, our pain into purpose and our hiccups into healing.

The next time satan tries to torture you with the obvious, that you are not perfect or with the lie that the Lord doesn’t bless dysfunctional families, you throw those bible stories back at him and remember what Elder Holland says:

“If for a while the harder you try, the harder it gets, take heart. So it has been with the best people who ever lived.” and he also encourages us with "...keep loving. Keep trying. Keep trusting. Keep believing. Keep growing. Heaven is cheering you on today, tomorrow, and forever."
