Then a few days later they fired Tucker Carlson, the highest rated host in prime-time cable news. Then that same day CNN fires Don Lemon. And as a backdrop to all this high-profile news, is the undercurrent of heavy layoffs in the media field, at NPR, at Vice News, at BuzzFeed News and the Gannett newspapers.
