Trainer Sir Henry Cecil and jockey Tom Queally have taken the honours on the first day of Glorious Goodwood with a big race double.

After Frankel's brother Noble Mission scraped home in the Gordon Stakes, they took the featured Bet 365 Lennox Stakes with Chachamaidee, to Queally's great delight.

Noble Mission and Encke, who were seperated by a whisker at the end of the Gordon Stakes at Glorious Goodwood, will lock horns again in next month's Great Voltigeur Stakes.

The pair thrilled the Goodwood crowd in a battle down the home straight and were only seperated by a nose at the post in one of the key trials for next months St Leger at Doncaster.

Connections of the Australian superstar sprinter Black Caviar are taking no chances in her first race in the Northern Hemisphere at Royal Ascot tomorrow - even to the extent of flying in the mares own stall handler.

Glen Darrington has been retained by the brilliant mare's trainer Peter Moody to make sure all goes well at the start of the Diamond Jubilee Stakes.
