Carla Astorga - Affiliate Steering Committee Chair, NAMI for Wasatch/Summit Counties We continued our discussion about the Person to Person program by NAMI (National Alliance of Mental Illness), a 10-class weekly series focused on individuals suffering from mental health illnesses like schizophrenia, depression, anxiety and others that affect the Hispanic/Latino community. 8:00 p.m. In-Studio Senator Luz Escamilla Representative of District 1, First Latina elected in the state of Utah, and first immigrant elected to state legislature. She is currently serving her third term in the Senate of Utah after having been reelected in 2012 and 2016. Senator Escamilla serves in the leadeship team as the "whip" of the Senate minority. We discuss her term in Senate, her experiences as a Latina, and her recent bid for the position of Salt Lake City Mayor.

We discussed the "Dangers of Border Crossings" event that took place May 18th at the Park City Library to discuss the effects of the current political climate, and how it affects the latino community. The exhibit featured art, poetry and other presentations.
