Feeling the effects of nearly a year of covid, multitasking, and just plain too much shit going on, I'm just going to wing it today with some thoughts on keeping it all together. We have a lot of stress in our lives and it's okay to feel that. It's okay to be in a place where you haven't yet found your voice, where you haven't stood up to the asshats, and where you haven't yet found fulfillment. It is okay. We are human. Grit is about moving forward even when we fail, even when we feel like crap. So don't beat yourself up about anything. Just keep looking forward.
In S2E04 Beth talks about the Law of Attraction use in having a better job or career. She gives some examples from her own life and a general work example. How can reframing your thoughts help you in your job? Are you getting bitter and negative about your work situation? Are you using the LoA and is the Universe trying to course-correct you?
In S2E03 Beth Anne rants about why there is still resistance to remote working even though so many companies have seen firsthand how well it works during Covid. Job postings for roles that should be able to easily accommodate a work-from-home set up still show the remote work option as "No." Why is that? Haven't we learned?
In S2E02 Beth Anne talks about the importance of finding your voice and speaking out (whatever that means to you) and the impacts of when we don't. Taking some advice from Mel Robbins Kick Ass audio book, we dive into your responsibility and accountability for when you keep things inside.
In S2E01 I recap the episodes thus far. I also talk about what's coming up in 2021 and what I might be looking for in guests. Honorable mention to the Make It Real podcast with Trisha Lewis (trishalewis.com, podcasts, Episode 76), where I lost my podcast guest appearance virginity.

In S1E17 Beth gives some tips on what to do if you are experiencing a toxic situation at work. What do you do when you are bullied, harassed, teased, thrown under the bus, or otherwise treated like a bag of dicks? We have some options for you...and for those of you not in a toxic situation but who might be able to help out someone who is.
In S1E16 we talk about the importance of deprioritizing things and stepping away when we are under a lot of stress or extreme time constraint. Emphasis on stepping away without guilt. Beth Anne talks about stepping away from writing, podcasting, and social media while moving to a new house and gives a few examples of how she had to say "no" (or "not now") to some folks even though she wanted to help. Are you stepping away when you need to?
In S1E15 Beth Anne talks about another time she got in trouble at work, and the lessons learned from it. She compares this instance from the other time she got in trouble (S1E11 - when she got pulled into a compliance investigation when she mocked up her team as LEGO caricatures to boost their morale). This earlier event involved a fax machine, an über-professional coworker, and Beth's early days working part-time at a utility company.
In S1E14 Beth Anne talks about her experience as an engaged employee...and as a very disengaged one. What's the difference? Why is Employee Engagement important? Tune in and find out. Thanks to forbes.com and quantumworkplace.com for some great supporting material in this episode.
In S1E13 I talk about how I found herself with a coach after years of thinking it was for "other people." My experience with Heidi Medina has opened my eyes to the power of coaching and I walk through my evolution from coach-neutral to coach fan. Check out Heidi on LinkedIn or on Facebook, she's the real deal!
