The Shadow of the Sun is an Independent film by Miguel Angel Ferrer and it is a love letter to Venezuela. We had an opportunity to interview him in in English and in Spanish. Take a listen to our English interview below.
About the film:
Leo (Carlos Manuel Gonzalez) is a blue-collar worker with a musical past living in the remote city of Acarigua, nestled in the Venezuelan inland empire. Haunted by financial debt and problems at home, he does anything to stay afloat. One day, his younger brother Alex (Anyelo Lopez) who has been deaf since birth, offers him a solution: to participate in a musical contest in the capital, Caracas, performing a song that he has written himself, because the first prize may solve all his economic problems. Forced by circumstance, Leo must take a leap of faith, unearth his dormant musical talent, and do the impossible to change his and his brotherās future by joining their voices in an unforgettable journey. source Rotten Tomatoes

How did we get here NYC?
Those of us who have been keeping a close eye are not surprised⦠but it still stings.
Mayor Mamdani inherited a budget crisis.
NYC is broke. While his team has uncovered savings, there are billions still needed. His solutions? Raising taxes on corporations / wealthy New Yorkers and /or raising property taxes. This also includes dipping into reserves.
The reactions witnessed on this day inside this press room echo what many New Yorkers feel⦠uneasy panic.

The NFL half time show has not been in alignment with its audience for many years. They seem to be following the money and seeking to attract more of an international audience, which is probably one of the reasons Bad Bunny, who is a bigger artist than Taylor Swift was selected for the Half time show performance.
The Rightās continuous child-like racist bashing of Bad Bunny was disappointing. Their nonstop outrage about decisions that were already made and set in motion was misplaced. It should have been directed to Jay Z, the NFL, instead an unnecessary amount of vitriol poured out from people with big platforms some who also claim to live a Christian life.
They reduced the argument to past outfit choices, ICE Out, and the fact that he only performs in Spanish. They didnāt seem interested in conversation or other perspectives. They failed to report updated news that indicated he was putting Puerto Rico's plight and relationship with the United States on the spot light. This moment could have served to showcase the truth about Puerto Ricoās status and the truth about why it is so damn near impossible for people to thrive on that island. It could have served as an opportunity to attract audiences who are looking to listen to conservative voices. Instead they not only alienated potential walk-aways, they alienated Puerto Rican Conservatives like my sister and I.
BIG MISS!
His last album which is a love letter to Puerto Rico has been a big part of his show presentations and not only a huge hit in Puerto Rico, but also internationally.
Turning Pointās Half time show stunt was also in poor taste. What happened to casting stones? Seems like this organization has bigger things to worry about.
This is a moment to educate folks about the real relationship the United States has with Puerto Rico. Say what you want about Bad Bunny, but he did what no other artist has done ā¦.. he put our Puerto Rican culture, our stories, essence and colonial relationship with the United States on center stage in a beautiful inspiring artistic cinematic way. šµš·āļø

Hello fam!
Have you heard about the woman who married an AI companion⦠allegedly?
On December 2025, it was reported that a woman in Japan married an AI-generated boyfriend. The AI muchacho was present at the wedding via a phone screen. Rings were also exchanged in the ceremony.
Would you be open to having an AI buddy? Could having an AI buddy help with the loneliness epidemic?
Many are warning humans are treading dangerous territory with AI. Ay ay ay.
Topics also covered is the BIG News of the US leaving the WHO.
We also chat deeper about other ways we are tracked online.
Trigger warning: We started the show with a meme video for laughs. Itās healthy to laugh in moments that feel like we are living in a reality show.
Set Reminder⦠Donāt forget to tune in Monday 8pm ET for our live show hosted with RA, Kozi, and Mark.

Everything that happens is for a reason.
Iāve been writing songs since I was five years old.
And I always wanted to be on stage.
But my path took me to be behind the scenes at MTV.
And at the high points of my career,
I found myself in MTV,
co-producing MTV Cribs,
feeling jealous because I was in a studio apartment.
And then one day Cribs had a baby and it was teen Cribs.
And I saw that I was covering and co-producing spaces that were a lot bigger than even the artistsā homes that we were showcasing.
And in those settings, I also saw and felt a lot of things that human beings feel.
And when I would go home, I stopped feeling envious.
I started feeling grateful.
because I knew who my friends were.
I knew if they loved me.
I knew if they wanted to say that I was being full of shit,
they would tell me to my face,
you know,
because you need real people in your life.
And what I witnessed was a lot of people who didnāt really have a lot of real
people,
but wanted to have friends. And I saw what you would know back then as A-list artists in their home.
And all I felt was depression.
or I saw people kissing ass just because they have money.
And I knew that when I went back home,
I could be at a family barbecue and it felt like this,
right?
Like we donāt all know each other intimately, but we know it feels like fam.
And anyway, why is my debut called Wokey Pokey Land?
because coming from the world of MTV is something that is so meaningful to me, creativity,
which is I believe is given to us by God,
each and every one of us,
whatever that looks like.
But they wanted to take our breath away in 2020.
And so in Wokey Pokey Land, anything and everything goes, such as depravity, lies, loops, programming people who want you to be in politically correct boxes, no matter where you are. And for me, the freedom fam represents escaping from wokey pokey land and being in the reality
In this reality.
And this is the summer solstice energies, happy solstice to everyone. Um, we are in integration time. And this is the perfect time for music, for art, for creating the best music.
We havenāt had great, great, great music.
Itās out there, but obviously the programmers have it hijacked.

Hello New York,
The vaccine fight is far from over. Take a listen to our MAHA update with founder of Autism Action Network, John Gilmore. Then keep listening for pt two of this conversation where we chat NY Updates with a focus on COPA with Councilmember, Joann Ariola.
New York has been lucky to have John Gilmore whom we regard as The Godfather of the Medical Freedom Movement in New York. He has paved the way for many and has tirelessly defended New Yorkers medical rights through his outreach and advocacy.
We are also lucky to have Councilmember Joann Ariola who cares about everyday New Yorkers, home owners and small businesses. She discusses how COPA would infringe on the rights of homeowners, but thatās not all.
