This week Estrellita will be interviewing Nikki Robledo she received her Bachelor's Degree(s) at UC Santa Barbara and has recently graduated with her Masters in Higher Education Leadership. It is important for our First Gen Gente to research the grad programs you are interested in and even if it's just one, that is okay! And it is okay NOT to know it all. To many times our gente get caught up in wanting to know it ALL (including Estrellita) that they may forget to enjoy the smaller things in life. La vida is such a precious thing and this pandemic has shown both our educated mujeres that it is okay, too slow down.

¡Hola mi gente! I am so excited to be back for Season 3 estoy tan orgullosa in all of you as we continue on for our new Spring semester/quarter. For this episode I will be sharing some tips and reminders about overcoming Zoom Fatigue and what it means to be a First Gen Latinx student who is paving the way. Also, I want to share my thoughts about everything that happened at the Capitol on January 6th.

This week Estrellita is having a cafecito with Valerie, a PhD student and the Founder of Latina Grad Guide; a social media platform dedicated to supporting Latina's to get into graduate school and thrive. Valerie created this unique & uplifting resource during her Master's program. With the support of her familia, she has been able to create such an empowering space, that allows Latina student's to heard through the Testimonios, that Latina Grad Guide supports on the website.

This week Estrellita will be having a conversation in regards to grad school apps and the extended application deadlines for the UC's and CSU's. Furthermore, as the semester/quarter is coming to an end it is important for our First Generation Scholars to know that they are supported by an entire community of Higher Education Content Creators. This week Estrellita will be having a cafecito con Vanessa aka The Biznes Coach! Our poderosa mujer graduated with her degree in Sociology w/ a minor in Psychology w/ an emphasis in Criminology from Mount St Mary's University.  She shares so much valuable information about the different jobs that our first gen gente can apply for with this degree. Furthermore, she shares her story on how she became The Biznes Coach and how important it is for our gente to choose a partner who will support them in everything that they do academic and career wise. Which is where the question is brought up "Asset or Liability?"

This week Estrellita will be sharing tips on how she manages her study schedule for upcoming grad school exams. A lot of the times, it can feel as if the GRE, LSAT, CSETS etc. aren't designed for first gen students to pass. However, con ganas y self love todo se puede and Estrellita hopes that these tips and affirmations assist you on your journey. Lastly, we all know the truth, trying to keep up con la familia when you are a student studying away from home, can lead to a disconnect....
