The PoeticRockstar, started his artistic journey the fall of 2009, where he used writing to inspire and encourage people to tap into their passion. Connecting with his artistic roots he started performing in churches, schools, and small communities throughout the DMV and Philadelphia area. Many people knew him as Flowetry Man because of his word play and straightforward bars, however, because of his love for music he decided to change his name to the PoeticRockstar.

His passion for writing and his love for music has pushed him to create his own genre of music, Neotry. Neotry is a mixture of jazz, noel-soul, R&B, hip hop, and poetry. His goal is to create a mainstream genre where poets can create music without being categorized as Hip-Hop, Neo-Soul, etc.; it’s just poetry in motion.

He’s released three projects, The Experience, A.E.P., and Watch What’s Next.

Outside of music, he hopes to merge into fashion and acting industry soon.

Originally from Washington, D.C. Jonté “Luki” Barrett has been writing poetry since 2007. When she picked up her pen, it was simply for communication due to the lack of outlets. Coming through the last nine years, she has grown to love and appreciate herself through her writings. While

reminding herself of the beauty in struggle and the positivity in every part of her being, she uses her pen to push love, acceptance, and freedom to everyone she meets.

Luki has performed throughout the DMV area, West Virginia, New York City, and much more.

Being known for her strong, yet sassy voice, and her unique wordplay she's highly known at #PurePoetryDC on U Street NW and all of the Busboys and Poets locations. You can say that she's living up to her status as the "Princess of Spoken Word."
