Repent or perish is Jesus' message to the fallen race. In light of the Gospel, we can never be right with a holy God by works of any law. Repentance is the gift that enables us to give up our sinful efforts and trust the Christ who makes it for us.

Luke 13:31-35, Jesus' journey to Jerusalem meant death to Him, but it also meant death to us: killing Jesus means resurrection and salvation for sinners. Jesus Christ can't be silenced, but He is proclaimed.
