Bible Study - Christ- The Life of the Believer - Philippians 1-21

We will consider the solemn rebuke that Christ gave to the church at Ephesus - 'Thou hast left thy first love' and apply that to our lives.

We will be considering some of the attributes of the Word of God and how that Word guides and directs us in life.

Scripture compares life to a race that is set before us and we are to run it fleeing sin, looking unto Christ who has saved us, who is our example and who gives us strength in our weariness

A consideration of the psalmists trust in God and that Trust applied to ourselves.

We commence looking at the contents of Paul's prayers for the believers at Ephesus, by seeing the need of born-again Spirit-filled believers, to have a fresh infilling of the Spirit of God, together with the Scriptures of God, in order to have a closer walk with the Saviour.

Abraham, by obeying the call of God to go out into a place knew not whither he went, he revealed the effect of true faith in the exercise of it. As the Hymn says, -Jesus shall lead me night and day, Jesus shall lead me all the way, He is the truest Friend to me, For I remember Calvary.-

The blessings of having a Christ-centred family are manifold. We come back from the Synagogue with Peter's family, and they have Christ as one of their guests. Christ blessed them at the Meeting House, and He does so again at the Family House.

The verses 15 and 16 of Ephesians 1, are the encouraging introduction to Paul's prayer for the believers at Ephesus.
