As summer officially began this week the fishing continued to heat up as well! This week we cover: my recent trip to Bahia de los Angeles in Baja, offshore fishing for bluefin, yellowfin, yellowtail, and dorado, yellowtail all over the local islands from the Coronados to the Channel Islands, bass and barracuda lighting up the inshore fishing, La Jolla kicking out some consistent yellowtail, surf fishing for corbina and spotfin croaker, excellent king salmon and halibut fishing for the NorCal boats, and more!
There is really amazing fishing happening right now all over the state, from 150# bluefin off Mexico to limits of King Salmon out of San Francisco. This week we cover that as well as: yellowtail fishing at the local islands, inshore fishing reports (YT, calicos, barracuda, bonito), sight fishing corbina, big spotfin croaker, another North SD county striped bass, spotties chewing, halibut fishing, and more!
We're back with lots of exciting fishing stories to cover, including; surf fishing heating up for both SoCal and NorCal anglers, the BIG Bluefin are back and hungry, yellowfin are already being caught in May, yellowtail on paddies and at the islands, WSB being caught, King Salmon and Halibut fishing for SF Bay area anglers, and the eastern sierra trout season officially re-opening for Mono and Inyo counties!
Spring is (almost) here and the fishing is turning on! This week we cover: my run in with a great white shark, the bluefin showing back up in numbers, rockfish, yellowtail, and white sea bass being caught, surf fishing and grunion runs, lobster season coming to a close, halibut and stripers in the SF bay, largemouth moving into the prespawn/spawn, and trout fishing winding down for Southern California.
Super excited this week as bluefin tuna made their reappearance in Southern California waters. Hopefully this is a good omen for another epic offshore season. That's the main story this week, but also touched on winter yellowtail fishing, surf fishing, halibut fishing, largemouth going into the prespawn, and more.
Some excellent fishing happened this week! Topics covered include: excellent surf fishing happening for barred surf perch, halibut, and other assorted species, inshore halibut fishing continues to roll right along, yellowtail pulling another no show at Colonet over the weekend, local sportboat fishing including a 1800 fish day for one boat, largemouth fishing after the recent cold front, a solid largemouth being caught while catfishing, this weeks catch of the week, and Pacific Coast Sportfishing Magazine's event this weekend at the OC fairgrounds.
