A troubling pattern has emerged: when a Republican loses an election (and sometimes even before they lose), they cry foul, claim the election is rigged and undermine confidence in the public's confidence in election outcomes.

There is one readily identifiable cause of this relatively new phenomenon: we have failed to prosecute election crimes. Here is a review of how we got here and what we now need to do to protect our democracy and restore the public's confidence in our elections.
