Learn to "show your soul," be more present, and bring your light to the world. Conley says that we live horizontally, then begin to live vertically. Reaching upward to consider our soul and give ourselves grace can be a real gift of reaching this time in our lives. “Growing and aging are the same thing.” I can get excited about that!

“Midlife is when we outgrow our pursuit of happiness and start our practice of joy.” (Chapter 9). We can learn to redefine our definition of success, step out of the rat race of expectations, and often decide to start something new. There is great joy and adventure in being a beginner at something, and many people take on this challenge to make their midlife enjoyable. Could you take all that you have learned and use it in an unexpected way? We encourage you to rethink your relationship to work and "repot yourself in new soil" in order to flourish again. (31:33)
