Call-Ups brings you an exclusive interview with Nick Lagios, who is the Director of Basketball Operations for the South Bay Lakers. A role that he has been in for four-and-a-half seasons. He also works in basketball development for the Los Angeles Lakers.
Nick speaks about his role and what it involves. Before taking us through the scouting process and what a typical off-season entails, in terms of building a G League roster. He then talks about the challenges of being in the G League with multiple players going up to the NBA through call-ups and two-way contracts.

Call-Ups brings you an interview with Sir’Dominic Pointer, who was most recently with the Cleveland Cavaliers on a 10-day contract before the NBA suspension hit. Prior to that, Pointer was with the Cavaliers’ G League affiliate, the Canton Charge, for the 2019-20 campaign.
Through the season, the 28-year-old averaged 11.9 points, 5.5 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 1.9 steals, and 2 blocks. He became the first player in G League history to record both 80 blocks and 80 steals in a season. Which he did in just 43 games. With a portion of the season still remaining, plus the play-offs. A season that has since been canceled. Pointer finished second in G League Defensive Player of the Season voting and featured in the G League All-Defensive Team.
In the interview, Pointer speaks about his record-breaking 2019-20 season, the 10-day opportunity with the Cavaliers, and his time at St John’s University. He also talks about his experiences overseas, his unique skill-set, the importance of defense, as well as what the G League has done for his development. Plus much more!

Matt from Call-Ups brings you an interview with Abdul Gaddy. The former point guard of the Oklahoma City Blue (2018-20). The G League affiliate of the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Abdul Gaddy has 133 G League appearances to his name. With the Blue (2018-20) and the Maine Red Claws (2013-14). In-between, he spent 4 years overseas in Italy, Latvia, and Germany. In July 2020, it was announced that Gaddy had signed with the Greek outfit, Peristeri B.C. for the 2020/21 season.
Abdul discusses his college days, his rookie season with the Maine Red Claws, and his overseas experiences. He goes on to speak about the past two-years with the Oklahoma City Blue, playing in the 2019 G League International Challenge, and the growth of the G League in recent years.
