We all know we're called. But what do you actually do with it?
Called simply means chosen — and we're all chosen by God, to worship Him and to serve Him. But serving isn't just pulpit ministry, it's every gift and talent you've got, done as unto the Lord. Today I'm breaking down what it looks like to develop what God already put in you.
I'm using my own story as a web and brand designer — the skill was already there, but I stopped at "I can design websites, so what." I hadn't looked at the WHO, the people I was actually called to serve. Once I found that, the talent turned into purpose.
If you've got a gift you keep dismissing, this episode is your nudge to look deeper: what's God put in you, who is it for, and what does it look like to actually grow it instead of leaving it sitting there.
I'm Jaleesa, your purpose dreaming faith bestie, here to help you build what you're called to build. If this episode helped you, leave a review on Apple Podcasts and share it with a bestie.
Should I go this way or that way? I know I heard God — and then things went south. Today we're talking faith and risk: what happens when you obey God and the road gets rough anyway.
I'm unpacking the real story behind quitting my teaching job — hearing God say "one more year," signing that contract, and then walking into a season that hit like a crater, not a thud. I'll get into why faith takes risk, but faith itself isn't the risk. Why God honors what you stand on even when what you see says otherwise. And how to take a fact (I'm sick, I'm short on money) and throw some truth on it — His word — until the truth outweighs the fact.
If you're standing at a fork right now, wondering if you heard God right, this one's for you. Even if you take a wrong turn, the steps of the righteous are ordered by the Lord — He's got the detour covered.

If your life feels like it's on repeat, this episode breaks down the two real reasons why — and it's not bad luck. Vision (or the lack of it) and unfinished obedience keep you circling the same season. We talk about what vision actually is, why writing it down matters (Habakkuk 2:2), how to test opportunities against it, and how to tell a God-thought from your own thoughts in your journal time. If you're ready to stop spinning and start moving, this one's for you.
You're gifted — and you probably don't even realize it, because it comes as naturally to you as breathing. Today we're talking about finding your gifts and why they matter more than you think.
Your gifts aren't yours to hoard. They're yours to steward. And using them the way God intended doesn't just bring fruit to your life — it reaches the very people your gifts were meant for.
So let's get practical. What do you actually do well? Not halfway — but good enough that people ask you for it, or ask your advice on it. David was a skilled musician before he ever set foot in a palace. His gift got him in the room (1 Samuel 16:16). What came next — the anointing, the giant, the throne — was calling. But the gift is what opened the door.

You're praying. You're fasting. You're believing. And still… nothing. Before you assume you're doing something wrong, can we talk about the one thing that might actually be holding back your breakthrough?
It's not that you don't believe God can. Deep down, you know He can. The real question — the one your heart is whispering even when your mouth says the right scriptures — is will He? Will He do it for you?
In this episode of Called & Confident, Jaleesa gets honest about the faith gap she discovered when she sat at the foot of her bed asking God where she missed it. His answer? Unbelief. Not the obvious kind — the sneaky kind that sounds like the serpent in the garden, quietly questioning whether God's promises actually apply to you.
She shares exactly what she did to start breaking through — from Andrew Wommack teachings to scripture-building with key passages like Mark 9:23-24, Isaiah 41:10, and Hebrews 4:16 — and why this shift changed something internally before anything changed externally.
If you've been quoting Philippians 4:19 while your heart quietly says "but will He?" — this episode is for you.

You know faith without works is dead. You believe it. You're doing the work — writing the book, building the website, posting the content, showing up consistently — and all you get is crickets. Meanwhile, somebody hands you a "God is waiting on YOU, sis" and you have to resist every urge while also planning your repentance.
Been there.
In this episode, we're getting into the tension that nobody really talks about: what happens when you've done everything you know to do and nothing is moving. Because here's the truth — two things can be true at the same time. You can be waiting on God and God can be waiting on you. And knowing which season you're in changes everything.
We're talking about:
