Paul’s introduction to Romans reveals that the gospel is God’s promised, powerful work of grace, centered on Jesus Christ—fully God and fully man—and received by faith alone. Believers are loved, called saints who live out their identity through obedience that flows from faith, strengthened through mutual encouragement in the body of Christ. Because the gospel is the very power of God unto salvation, Christians are called to live unashamed, trusting God’s sovereignty, and faithfully proclaiming Christ to all people.
