Dr. Maxwell gave this presentation at the 10th International Conference on Baptist Studies. February 20, 2025Project Violet International Symposium (Special Episode)On January 15th, Melody Maxwell delivered a paper at an international symposium for Project Violet. Project Violet is a UK initiative with a similar focus to ours. It was named for Violet Hedger, the first Baptist woman to be trained for ordination at Regent’s Park College at Oxford. Project Violet has investigated women’s experiences in ministry whilst developing women ministers. It has helped understand morefully the theological, missional, and structural obstacles women ministers face in the Baptist community in Great Britain.
