Barnes, an actor known as ''the man of a thousand voices'' Barnes was the radio voice of the second ''Captain Midnight'' show on network radio. He hosted Calling All Detectives from Chicago which was syndicated by WGN Radio station. He had been president of the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists and the Screen Actors Guild.
