  • Every Maze Has Walls: What the Launch House Weekend Taught Me About Pivoting

I just got home from LaunchHouse, and this one has it all: tears, laughs, a maze, and a whole lot of water bottles.

In this episode, I take you inside my weekend with fellow founders, including:

    • Meeting my Zoom classmates in real life for the first time
    • Interviewing mamas on camera about how they find their pause
    • The water bottle sales challenge (and what it taught me about thinking bigger)
    • Crying on and off all day, then getting up to pitch Mama Pause anyway
    • The feedback I got, and the customer story that's going in every pitch from now on
    • Why "objections are signals" and "interest isn't a sale"
    • The maze analogy that finally helped me name my wall: not being willing to pivot

Plus, where Mama Pause stands today and what I'm doing differently this week.

If you're building something too, I'd love to hear: what's the wall in your maze right now?

  • Launch House Day 3: The Wall I'd Been Hanging Out At

It's 1:17 AM, I'm in bed (hello, creaky mattress ️), and Launch House is officially over. I'm sad to say goodbye to my friends and so excited to get home to my baby. All the feels.

During build time, I stepped outside and ended up talking with Ranbir, the founder of OneDay, for what felt like an hour. I asked him the question that had been sitting on my heart all weekend: Do I have potential?

His answer changed how I'm looking at everything.

    In this unfiltered voice note:

The maze metaphor, and my aha moment that I'd been hanging out at the same wall

Why he believes the problem I'm solving is real, and where he's not sold yet

A big one: a $200+ offer needs about 20 people, not hundreds

His challenge: run fast experiments with a clear success metric, try 15 things, and don't fall in love with the solution

‍️ Practicing sales objections, all with Mama Pause

A group photo, a OneDay chant, and a dance party

️ Launch House is coming back in December, and it's all about pitching!

I've never felt more lost and more on track at the same time. If that makes sense to you, this episode is for you.

  • Launch House Day 2: I Needed a Mama Pause for My Mama Pause Pitch 2

It's midnight, I'm walking back to my room (hello, elevator noises ), and Day 2 of OneDay Launch House was… holy moly.

Today I got up for Helen's famous one-minute pitch challenge and shared Mama Pause. My hands shook, I cried a little, my heart was pounding, and I'm pretty sure I blacked out. I needed a Mama Pause for my own Mama Pause pitch! It wasn't perfect, but the feedback was gold, and it's a moment I only get to grow from.

    In this unfiltered voice note:

What it felt like to pitch live, and the feedback I got

Filming content in hallways full of founders doing selfies and interviews

Building an outreach plan with AI

How comparing myself to another founder turned into inspiration once I learned she'd practiced her pitch 40+ times

The OneDay founders Q&A, and why I'm suddenly open to the idea of a co-founder

A simple lesson: always keep your QR code handy when moms ask to buy!

Missing Korbin and my fiancé Kelton, while soaking up every connection

This was a roller coaster of a day, full of doubt, tears, and a lot of breakthroughs. Most of all, it was about the people. Zoom contacts became real friends, and mentors stayed past midnight for us.

For the mamas building something with babies on their hips and big dreams in their hearts, this one's for you.

  • September 2026 | Launch House Night 1: The Water Bottle Challenge

Oh my goodness, friends. This is night one of Launch House in Atlanta, the biggest event OneDay has ever put on. There are 150 founders, incredible mentors, and both OneDay founders in one room. I recorded this at midnight, and then again at 7 a.m. once my brain caught up with my heart.

    In this episode:

    • What an ICP (ideal customer profile) is, and why your niche can be as small as 10,000 people
    • The water bottle sales challenge: teams raced to sell 15 water bottles for at least $100
    • How my team added coping-skill stickers, walked up to strangers with confidence, and raised $79
    • How other teams brought in $700, $900, even $1,000+ with B2B pitches, app advertising spots, and coaching bundles
    • My 7 a.m. aha: the winning teams did exactly what OneDay teaches. They built an ICP, did customer discovery, and asked what people would pay, instead of anchoring low like we did.
    • A thought-provoking conversation with mentor Helen Murphy about whether every founder needs to be the "outside the box" thinker, or whether that's what the right partner is for

    The big takeaway:

Ask what the maximum value is that you can provide, and then price for it. Fail fast, fail forward.

Huge gratitude to the OneDay team, Ranbir, Helen, Manish, and every founder in that room. I'll be back tonight with day two!

    I invite you to:

    • ⭐ Leave a rating or review if this episode sparked something for you
    • Share it with a founder mama who's building with big dreams in her heart
    • Follow along so you don't miss day two of Launch House

  • September 2026: Atlanta Bound, 10 Paying Mamas & Saying Yes to What Matters

Oh my goodness, friends. This week I'm packing my bags for Atlanta, Georgia, for OneDay's Launch House, the biggest in-person event OneDay has ever hosted. 150 founders. Three mentors. Three days of masterclasses, build sprints, a live sales challenge, and a 90-day growth plan pressure test.

In this unfiltered voice note, I share:

What I've been building in the prep sessions (yes, I went to every single one): a content engine, an outreach engine, and an operations engine designed to give time back to busy founders

Why I'm walking into Atlanta so grateful to be part of OneDay's growth firsthand

The real Mama Pause numbers: 11 mamas joined, my first cancellation, and 10 paying mamas today

The partner ripple: therapists sharing Mama Pause with their clients, a doula with a team of 14, a local family services nonprofit exploring bulk access for caregivers, and an upcoming call with a national doula association

The Feelings Playground: 21 audio episodes I made "just for funzies" with characters from my books (and my little one's review: he loves them!)

A tender check-in on a hard couple of weeks, and how Kelton and I gathered my tools, got clear on my no's, and protected my yes's

Our first in-person OneDay Dallas board meetup, and the bittersweet news that my program ends next August

This is Calm & Colorful 2.0, unfolding one day, one alignment, one breakthrough at a time. Mama. Business. Alive.

If this episode sparked something for you, I invite you to leave a review and share it with a mama building something beautiful.

  • September 2026: My First Panic Attack as a Founder

Last Saturday morning I had my first panic attack as a founder. The second one of my entire life.

I was laying in bed with Korbin, Kelton had left for pickleball, and I just started spiraling — over the deal I made with my fiancé when I signed up for OneDay, over the revenue number I'm nowhere near, over my mentor telling me that if I don't make two sales a week this month, it's time to pivot again. My third pivot. I felt like everyone was giving up on me. My mentor. Kelton. Me.

None of that was true. Those were the stories I was telling myself.

Thirty minutes after that panic attack, I posted the rawest thing I've ever written into our OneDay Slack group. Word vomit. No polish. And then the replies started coming in.

In this episode I read you the post, and I read you every single reply — from founders, from mentors, from a cohort manager, from a stranger who reached out privately just to tell me I didn't need to have the next eight months figured out today. One of them reframed fasting for me in a way I'm still thinking about. One of them reminded me that the business is not a reflection of my ability to run it. One of them told me she's on her third pivot, graduating in November, and has made $148 to date.

I'm sharing all of it because if you're in a struggling moment right now, I want you to hear what being seen actually sounds like.

I'm still in it. I'm still feeling the feels. And the tools that are carrying me through are the exact tools I hand to families every day — including Mama Pause.

This entrepreneur life isn't for the weak, beautiful humans. But you don't have to do it alone.

    In this episode:

    • What was actually on my plate the morning it all cracked open — two boards, my master's, a new morning job, motherhood, the business
    • The Slack post I wrote 30 minutes after a panic attack, read word for word
    • Nine replies from other founders, and why each one landed differently
    • The difference between deciding from clarity and deciding because you need the discomfort to stop
    • Why asking to work fewer days was the first honest step I took

If this one meets you where you are, I invite you to leave a review and send it to a founder friend who needs to hear it today.

Have a calm and colorful day.

  • I Went Quiet -- and So Did My Revenue

Three weeks ago, Mama Pause had eight paying mamas.

    Three weeks later? Still eight-ish.

In this episode, I’m sharing the numbers that are a little less fun to talk about: a billing mistake that went unnoticed for weeks, $53.25 in monthly recurring revenue, zero full-price subscriptions, 44 days of social media posting with zero conversions, and the uncomfortable realization that I’ve been hiding inside product work instead of selling.

I’m also breaking down what I’m learning inside One Day about moats, the Bullseye Framework from Traction, AI agent systems, and the conversation with my mentor that called out the pattern I couldn’t see.

This isn’t a win episode. It’s the messy middle: figuring out what’s actually working, cutting what isn’t, and holding myself accountable to two sales a week.

Because a beautiful product and a great story are not the same thing as a business.

  • Building Mama Pause When Life Doesn't Pause

I’ve been a little checked out—and somehow still building.

Mama Pause is officially LIVE, I have my first 8 paying mamas, my first annual subscriber, and now I’ve been given a new challenge: grow faster.

I’m sharing what’s working, what’s definitely not working enough, the numbers behind the launch, and why I’m going hard on Mama Pause for the next two weeks—even while navigating everything happening with Korbin.

  • From $18 to $36 MRR in 4 Days: What I'm Learning From My First Paying Customers

Just four days ago, I celebrated my first three Founding Members and my first $18/month in recurring revenue. Today, that number has doubled.

In this MBA Diaries update, I'm sharing what happened next—including the simple follow-up text that turned "I'll sign up" into actual customers, why I'm tracking every member's experience in a usage tracker, and what my very first 20-minute customer feedback call taught me.

    I also share:

    • Why I'm focusing on paying customers instead of free users.
    • How I'm building a feedback system with 48-hour nudges and 7-day check-ins.
    • My latest One Day MBA update and what we've been learning about product experimentation.
    • The upcoming Launch House founder event I'm both excited and nervous about.
    • The decision I made about leaving my 2½-year-old for the first time—and how we found a solution that feels right for our family.

This season is less about overnight success and more about testing, learning, listening to customers, and improving one step at a time. If you're building a business, launching something new, or simply curious what the messy middle actually looks like, come along for the journey.

Thanks for being here, and as always, I hope you have a calm and colorful day.

  • Three Founding Members, $18 MRR, and the First Real Signs This Might Actually Work

After more than 40 customer discovery conversations, countless pivots, and a lot of uncomfortable texts, something finally clicked.

In this episode, I'm sharing the real behind-the-scenes of launching the MVP for my parenting audio membership and what happened when I stopped trying to build the "perfect" product and started testing what people would actually pay for.

    Inside this episode:

    • Why my first three paying Founding Members felt bigger than the money
    • The follow-up text that turned a "maybe later" into a customer
    • What I completely failed to track during 40+ customer interviews (and what I'd do differently)
    • Why timing—not interest—was stopping one mom from buying
    • The emotional reality of asking friends to become customers
    • Why $18/month feels like proof that this business can become something much bigger
    • Balancing entrepreneurship, motherhood, graduate school, and a child with ongoing health challenges
    • Why I'm more hopeful than ever that I'm finally finding product-market fit

This isn't a polished success story. It's a real-time diary of building a business from the ground up—one conversation, one experiment, and one brave ask at a time.

If you're building something of your own, especially while raising a family, I hope this reminds you that momentum often starts with just a handful of people saying, "Yes."
