Joe and Tamra Beardsley are “Church Planters” from the Chicago area. They visited us on Thursday evening, July 14, 2016.
In his message “Beyond These Walls”, he taught us that while living for God can be fun and rewarding, the real call is to take everything we’ve learned within the walls of the Church, and apply it to witnessing to our community and neighbors outside the walls of the Church.
The message was fun, yet very informative. This would be a good message to listen to every time you question the reason for your true calling to God.
Scriptures:
1 Peter 4:10-13
10 As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.
11 If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
12 Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you:
13 But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ’s sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.
Also read the account of Peter and John in Acts chapters 2-4 as they began doing what Jesus had called them to do:
Acts 2 – Peter preaches the Pentecost message and 3,000 are added to the Church.
Acts 3 – Peter and John heal a beggar and are later arrested.
Acts 4 – 5,000 people who witnessed the miracle are added to the Church.
Main Point:
Reaching the lost doesn’t happen when we are speaking in tongues inside the Church, it happens when we bring the Holy Ghost out to our neighbors “Beyond These Walls”.
