As we continue to look at the coming judgement of the tribulation, we see that it is all encompassing –everyone on earth will be effected, and every area of creation will be involved. Not only that, but we also see that the church is involved and that it is our prayers that are being answered.

Between the unsealing of the sixth and the seventh seal judgement, we are given a heavenly perspective that reminds us of God’s sovereignty over the affairs of the world, and His gospel purpose for mankind.

As Jesus begins to unseal the scroll, the great trouble known as “the tribulation” is initiated on earth. Chapter six seems to give us a sweeping overview of the entire seven year period. #tribulation #judgement #prophecy #Jesus #antichrist #bible

The Angel’s announcement of the birth of Jesus was a proclamation of the gospel.

John sees a heavenly vision of Jesus -the Lamb of God, Who alone is worthy to take the scroll from the hand of the Father, and Who subsequently receives praise from every created being. 

As we begin chapter 4, John is invited to “come up” to the heavenly throne room, where he sees and hears the glory of God. 

Jesus uses several unique examples from Laodicean culture to call out the church’s indifference toward the things of God, calling them to repentance and pleading with them to open up their hearts to Him.

The church in Philadelphia had an open door for the proclamation of the gospel to their culture. Jesus encourages them to persevere in the mission of the Kingdom and to look forward to their rapture and reward.

Kind of like Uncle Ricco in “Napoleon Dynamite”, the church in Sardis was living off of the fumes of it’s past greatness -it had a name that it was alive, but it was dead. Jesus gives the church a five-point plan for revival.
