The father of John announces the ministry of Jesus with a fantastic prophecy of Him as “the Sunrise from on high”. 

As Peter continues his lessons for the church, we see God’s design for workers and servants is submission. #livinghope

Peter gives instructions to the church, that we are to live in submission to the governing authorities establish by God. This submission is a testimony to the world. #livinghope

Peter reminds the church that we are God’s building project and must continually be coming to Him, and looking to His word in order to understand both who we are and also to fulfill His purpose in the world. #livinghope

After reminding the church about the “living hope” of Jesus, Peter demonstrates how all of God’s working in the world was for those who would be “born again” through the word of God, and that being set apart by His grace comes with the responsibility to live set apart lives. #livinghope

Peter is writing to the church scattered throughout the Roman Empire to encourage them in the midst of persecution, by reminding them (and us) of the “living hope” that is Christ. #livinghope
