Now listen, you who say, -Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money.- 14Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life- You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. 15Instead, you ought to say, -If it is the LORD's will, we will live and do this or that.- 16As it is, you boast in your arrogant schemes. All such boasting is evil. 17If anyone, then, knows the good they ought to do and doesn't do it, it is sin for them.

Therefore if you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any common sharing in the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, 2-then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind. 3-Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, 4-not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.--5-In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus---6-Who, being in very nature-a- God,------did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage---7-rather, he made himself nothing------by taking the very nature-b- of a servant,being made in human likeness.

1 In the past God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets at many times and in various ways, 2 but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom also he made the universe. 3 The Son is the radiance of God's glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word.
