Somewhere at the base of the Mount of Olives there was a garden named for an -oil press- -Gethsemane- which was there or had been a prominent feature in the past. Here, Jesus brought His disciples to escape the crowds during their trips to Jerusalem. Here, He rested with them, prayed with them, and taught them. Judas knew well where to find Him. -On this cold night, the Lord came to pray with His disciples one final time before the greatest tragedy in history would take place the following day. His hour had come. As the Lamb of God, He would suffer and die. As our Great High Priest, He would bear our sins upon a -tree.- The agony had begun- -My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even unto death- -v.28-.

There were three different times in Joseph's life when dreams changed the course of his life. Be with us tonight as we continue our series in the book of Genesis. The message is entitled- The Butler and the Baker -chapter 40-.

Joseph was betrayed, sold into slavery, slandered and thrown into prison. Yet, a few years later, he could say, -God meant it for good.- Tonight's message is entitled- The Lord Was with Joseph -Genesis 39-.

In the night before His crucifixion, our Lord spent much time in prayer. He concluded His conference with His disciples -chapter 13-16- with what many have called the greatest prayer ever recorded. In this prayer-- He prayed for Himself -vs. 1-5- -Father, the hour has come.-

The story of Joseph is strangely interrupted by the dark sin of Judah in Genesis 38. It seems as though Jacob's sons were destroying any possibility of fulfillment of the covenant God made with Abraham -the Messiah would come through his offspring-. Be with us tonight as we continue our study in Genesis. The message is entitled- Tamar- God's Providential Grace.

In this magnificent prayer of our Lord, we see that He prayed for Himself as He had finished the work our Father had Him to do. He sought now to be glorified and to glorify His Father as He was ready to pay the ultimate price for our redemption. He prayed with eternity in view. Eternal life with all its benefits is given to all who know Him -vs. 1-5-.-Now He turns His attention to His disciples. He was leaving them on earth as He went to His Father. They were saved through His ministry -17- 6-13-. He prays for their sanctification for their own ministry -17- 14-17- and He prays for them as they will be sent into a hostile world -17- 18-19-

Jacob's life was full of deceptions.
