Direct contact with the enemy on the front lines. Paul uses examples of the armor the Roman Soldier would use in any battle. Each piece of equipment was designed for a protection in combat. The mind of the Christian is the battleground for this ongoing fight with the enemy. Applying the instruction given by Paul in these two verses in Ephesians will give victory to the Christian. Tragedy always results in many lives not applying this Scripture. The battle is the Lords-yet he gives to us these instructions in combat that WE APPLY AND DO.

We are in a battle. In Basic Training all soldiers are given out the items needed for battle-then shown how to put them on. Call it common sense for one engaging the enemy in a fight. Paul in Ephesians described the Spiritual items needed for our protection and for our success in this life and in this enemy territory that we are always in. Reality check: All of us have need of improvement-from the newly saved to the veterans in this warfare. Our enemy has more tactics than we will ever know.
