Sunday Morning at Calvary Chapel Faith Fellowship with Pastor Jim Sweigart.
The Pharisees and Sadducees, despite their differences, united to test Jesus, demanding a sign from heaven to prove His divinity. Jesus, recognizing their hypocrisy, called them out for their inability to discern the signs of the times, including His birth, John the Baptist’s ministry, and His miracles, all fulfilling Old Testament prophecies. He condemned their wickedness and faithlessness, highlighting their failure to recognize Him as the Messiah.
Jesus warns his disciples about the spiritual leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees, highlighting their hypocrisy and rationalism. He then asks them who people say He is, receiving various answers, but ultimately, Peter declares Him the Christ, the Messiah prophesied in the Old Testament. This declaration underscores Jesus’ divinity and His fulfillment of Old Testament prophecies.
