Peter: Rough-around-the-edges fisherman chosen by Jesus. Leader, used mightily, stumbled badly, repented deeply, became cornerstone of the church. Grace transforms ordinary into extraordinary.

The birth of Jesus Christ is announced to humble shepherds by an angel. The shepherds go to Bethlehem and find the baby lying in a manger, just as the angel had told them. They spread the word of Jesus' birth, and return home glorifying and praising God.
