The prophet Micah delivered a prophecy about the birthplace of Jesus Christ over seven hundred years before it was fulfilled, and it was fulfilled to the letter. Included in this prophecy were bullet points about Who the One would be, Ruler in Israel, active and eternal. His sovereignty, Self-existence, and Servanthood are all a part of His identity, the Everlasting One.

Here are the last kings of Judah, sons of Judah’s last good king, King Josiah. All of his sons that ascended the throne after him were apostate idolaters and plunged the kingdom into God’s judgment. The prophets for millennium had been warning about the coming judgments for rejecting the God of Israel. They were not joking and subsequent history records the awful reality of their warnings and the fulfillments. The New Testament apostles and writers were not joking either about the judgments of God to come to those opposed to the Son of God.

Paul and Barnabas returned to Antioch Syria after the Jerusalem council with a confirmation letter stating that Gentile Christians do not have to become Jewish in order to be saved by the Jewish Messiah Jesus Christ. They read the official letter to the church which was received with joy. Then Paul and Barnabas hotly contended with each other over follow up ministry in Galatia, which ended up in a temporary split between the two. They had served together through thick and thin times and would continue to serve the Lord in good times and bad. Paul went on to strengthen the churches in such a way that we still strengthens church today.

As a result of finding the lost book of the Law of God, King Josiah was no going to allow this finding be wasted. Everything that occurs in his life since then is the direct result of Scripture in his life. He called for a national reading of Scripture, a covenant from the people to serve God, the eradication of idols from God’s house and the territories of Judah and as far as he could in Israel. Then the Passover celebration like none before. He pulverized paganism in Judah. However, his death was the result of presumption. Still, Josiah was a hero king.

Christianity would have been absorbed in to Judaism as a sect and perished had it not been for this beloved Jewish Christian named Paul. God wanted Paul to settle this question at Jerusalem once and for all: “Must converts to Christ become Jewish (by circumcision) in order to be Christians and be saved?” The answer Paul fiercely upheld was, “Absolutely not!” Then the Holy Spirit who moved Peter and James to fully support this doctrine and they did it with reason, witnesses, facts and Scripture. Then they gave guidelines to the Gentile Christians to be sensitive to the conscience and upbringing of Jewish Christians.
