Ch 4 brought into focus great power - great grace- in Ch 5 it's great fear. --Understandably so- where there is purity, there is power. God was establishing the-foundation of the church, - the apostles bearing witness to the resurrection of J.C. w-great-power. But when impurity sought to permeate, God immediately - definitively dealt w-it-- there was no ambiguity, no uncertainty about the message. We might say that God was--deadly serious- about establishing the church on a pure foundation...

What is the Gospel-

Ch 5 of the book of Acts is one of those stubbornly transparent sections of scripture.-If you were to read the 1st 4 Ch's of the book of Acts - then put your bible down, you'd sort-of be left w-the impression that the early church was perfect. People were turning to-Christ by the thousands. There were no problems or impurities seeking to infiltrate. They-just functioned on another plane altogether. - It would seem that, that would be-true-initially. But eventually, the carnality of man would enter the equation.

Understand that there is no book on the planet that dares to stake its veracity, its-legitimacy - authenticity on its ability to tell the future in advance - if it ever misses one-time, you can dismiss the entire thing... outside of the bible. The book of Mormon doesn't-make that claim- the Koran doesn't boast that ability.
