One of the biggest movie blockbusters of all time was Stephen Spielburg’s Raiders of the Lord Ark. In the film, archaeologist, Indiana Jones is racing against a group of Nazis to find the Ark of the Covenant which Adolf Hitler believes will make his armies unstoppable in their quest to conquer the world. Jones finds the Ark first and then does his best to keep it out of the Nazi’s hands. Of course the story of Indiana Jones is fiction, […]

Some of the biggest blockbusters in Hollywood history have been movies about very tough guys. Take for example Clint Eastwood’s character William Munny in the movie Unforgiven. He was a rough dude. Then there was Bruce Willis’s character John McClane in Die Hard and Charles Bronson’s character Paul Kersey in Death Wish, both very tough guys. The list goes on, but the tough guys in the movies for the most part are fictional characters, and even then, none of them […]

D.L. Moody is quoted as once having said, “Whenever I preach on hell, I do it with tears in my eyes!” Along those lines, I think it would also be appropriate for anyone who preaches on the horrors of the Great Tribulation to do so with tears in their eyes. Anyone who examines the terrifying events of these middle chapters of Revelation without feeling sorry for those people who will be here during that time, must be pretty hard-hearted. As […]

When Stephen was speaking to the Jews just before he was stoned to death, he accused them of being “a stiff-necked people with uncircumcised hearts and ears who always resist the Holy Spirit!” Today in Revelation 9, we will be looking at a group of people just like these Jews in Acts 7 who make up the vast majority of the people left on this earth in the Great Tribulation. And no matter how bad things get on this earth […]

In today’s study in Revelation, John will tell us about an event when there is silence in heaven for ½ an hour. Some say that the silence in heaven represents a time on earth just before the Great Tribulation when God gives mankind what you might call “the silent treatment.” Are there times when God is silent on earth? Are there times when God is not speaking to mankind? Are there times when God doesn’t speak to us as individuals? […]

Most of us have common sense enough to come inside when we see a rain storm coming. So if we can discern bad weather coming, we ought to be able to discern the state of the world in which we live; we ought to be able to see the dark clouds of trouble our nation and this world are facing soon. Today in Revelation chapter seven, John is going to introduce us to a group in heaven who had the […]
