Calvary Chapel of San Antonio

Often, it’s when things look the darkest that Jesus appears to us!  If you are in one of those dark hours of life right now, and if you are there because Jesus sent you, He is beside you even though you do not feel like it…

18 And he is the head of the body, the church; ----Of all Biblical illustrations regarding the church. We become members of this body the instant we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior.  Because He is before all things, because He has the preeminence over all things, He is, of course, the Head of His church. The head always determines how the body works! ------ Clearly, this points to Jesus as the One who directs us—individually and the church at—large.  Sadly, there are Christians with their own agenda.  Agendas that are different from the agenda of the Head.

These are directions to the Israelite community to insure that sins we studied in the last 2 chapters are punished. I know we don’t like to think of a God who punishes but we have to remember how the last chapters started: I am the Lord your God and I am holy... Without judgment, God’s holiness is lost…

There is genuine power in your testimony. It may not be as dramatic as Paul’s, but there is power nonetheless.  The purpose of personal testimony is to glorify God, not self or sin…
