The ministry is a call to faithfulness to the Word of God and the perseverance of the man of God. The Apostle Paul listed the kinds of persecutions he endured as a minister of the Gospel. How the Lord was faithful to deliver him and how we are to expect trials and persecutions as Christ's servants. What is most encouraging is the work of ministry is based upon the Holy Scriptures that are able to make us wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

Today's message is focused upon this issue of Perilous Times that have been happening since the Creation of the human race. Paul warns Timothy regarding the sinful impulses that impact daily living. What fuels the energy of rampant sin in the world is the false teachers who resist the truth of God's Word, men of corrupt minds, disapproved concerning the faith. It's really awesome that God has given us His Word so we're not taken by surprise by perilous times and we are educated and taught how to respond.

Today's teaching explains how our lives are to be lived in God's presence. Paul details the difference between a vessel of honor and dishonor. As we ended last week's message, the scripture told us that if we are naming the name of Christ as Lord of our lives, we are to depart from iniquity.

Sin influences purity of heart. The heart is what manifests God's holiness or our sin. We honor Christ by the meditations of our heart, and as a result, our lives will be used to honor Him. If the heart is corrupt and living in sinful ways, we will dishonor Christ as His vessel.

May we yield to Christ every moment so He is magnified and honored in our lives so others can meet Him through our lives. We are the vessels that God uses to bring people to Himself.

We're living in days where truth is relative. Most of the populace decides for themselves what is truth. Moral relativism is the religion of the masses. As teachers we have a message straight from God the Creator of all things including each of our lives. His Word does not return void. It has the power to bring life or judgement. We are to be faithful to study so we're approved by Him to proclaim His Truth to a world void of God's Truth. There is an urgency to be bearers of the Truth of The Gospel. Paul encourages Timothy to Preach the Word.

Today's message will detail the trouble people find when they do not have God's Word of Truth.

As we gather in churches, there is always the blessing of helping those who are truly in need. Today, we examine the Ministry To Widows. Women who have lost their husbands find themselves in difficult situations. There is the responsibility to perhaps raise kids, get good employment, and/or finding help around the house. Paul is encouraging Timothy to not ignore the struggles of widows and to not be deceived by anybody who would try to exploit the church. There are so many ministries to help one another in life!

As pastors and teachers, we must, as Paul teaches, examine our ministry through the eyes of sound doctrine. That we as His Servants are to give attention to reading/study, exhortation and to doctrine. We are to give ourselves entirely to the call and grow in Christ's likeness; that our progress would be evident to all. Please pray for those who lead and teach God's flock that we all may be found faithful for the Glory of God.
