The Lord loves the phrase, "Do not be afraid." He loves it so much because He loves us so much and wants us to live in freedom and not in bondage to fear. The absents of fear brings joy.

God wants Israel to drive out the Canaanites from the Promised Land, just like He wants us to drive out our flesh that causes us to sin.

After 40 years of being in the wilderness, Israel is about to enter the Promise Land.

Two of Israel’s tribes were content to settle East of the Jordan while God said the Promise was on the West side. We too can come short of all God has for us by settling for less and being content to live close to, but not IN the Promise.

Moses is told he can't enter the Promise Land because of his disobedience, but how he reacts is what is surprising.

The Israelites are about to enter into the Promise Land, but some of them decide to defect to the enemy.
