Only servants, through whom you came to believe—as the Lord has assigned to each his task. I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow. So neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow."

How can someone acquire and understand wisdom from God? This week in 1 Corinthians 2:1–16 we consider that very question: how is God’s wisdom made known to man? We will see that God’s wisdom is revealed to man by the Holy Spirit.

Around A.D. 55, Paul wrote this letter from Ephesus to address reports he had received about the church and to answer specific questions the Corinthians had sent to him.

The book divides naturally into two sections:

Chapters 1-6 – Acknowledging Reports

Chapters 7-16 – Answering Questions

Over the coming weeks we’ll discover afresh that agape love is the glue that holds a church together, and that our lives as a church and individuals must always be centered on Jesus, His life, His death, and His resurrection.
