God's faithfulness, His word the promised blessings, but it also shows our part, an active faith that we must have to receive those blessings, obedience.

Today Paul teaches us to forget the past, strive forward towards Jesus Christ, and to rejoice that we are saved.

Joshua 13-14 highlights God's faithful fulfillment of His promise to the Israelites. As the land is divided among the tribes, God reaffirms His commitment, even as Joshua ages. Caleb's remarkable faithfulness, claiming his promised land at age 85, showcases God's enduring love and commitment to those who trust Him, emphasizing faith and patience in His plan.

Paul now moves to some very practical matters.  Faith in action, working out our salvation, an ongoing process in our life, being set apart for service and sacrifice for the gospel

Join us tonight as we learn of the difficult task God set before the Israelites. Because of their faith and adherence to their calling, God answered their prayers and gave them the promised land.

Philippians 2:1-11 emphasizes our Christian behavior over belief. We are being trained for the work of the Lord.  Philippians encourages us in humility, unity, and selflessness in action. All of these are illustrating that genuine faith is expressed through our conduct and how we treat others. Our job is that of imitating Jesus' humility and serving others.

God has promised us victory over those things in life that could so easily defeat us. The battles in this life are the lords, in faith we fight on our knees in prayer with the promises of God in His word.

Today Paul reminds us that no matter the situation we can have joy and share about Jesus.

When we make choices apart from God, there will be consequences. Many of them permanent. In Joshua 9, we learn the importance of leaning on God, and that He is more than able to redeem all situations no matter what.

We are all a part of a family of God. We are joined by our Father in heaven, uniting us together by the blood of Christ. But what does that mean for us? And what does that look like? Philippians lays the groundwork of the type of work we do in the family of God.
