The Greek word Hagiasmos means pure, set apart or consecrated. It is something that we are not, but need to have in our hearts. Nate makes three points regarding the passage: 1) Relationships - they are most important; 2) Habitation - God should live in our hearts; and 3) Decisions - we make the decisions to live and should be done because we want to be together with God and not for "legalistic" reasons.

In every generation there are those who think they know better than God. Unfortunately for them, they don't. Those who put their confidence in the flesh (themselves) will never reach the level of quality that God can create. Paul pointed out that our limitations don't limit God.
