Winning for Paul was seeing people come into a relationship with Jesus. He understood that the Gospel was designed to be shared and that there are things that can hinder the spread of the Gospel message. Three of these are Silence, Distance, and Sin. There is a danger in division. Petty things can be allowed to grow great in dividing a church. Paul explained the Motive, the Goal, and the Process. Paul addresses this noting four motives (vs 1-4). Says to be like-minded, same love, of one accord...BUT not uniformity! Inward conviction vs outward uniformity. Be not selfish, nor conceited (vain glory). Pray for a church where none are below you and none are above you.

Two premises: Good things happen when Jesus is in the house, and Jesus promises the church will be His house. Matthew 18:20 can be summarized as Encounter Jesus, Sins Forgiven, Life Changed!

People who come here to encounter Jesus can expect to be changed when they leave!
