Our responsibility to address sin and to help our family in Christ overcome sin as the Bible defines it.

Matthew 18:10-35; 1 John 1:9; 2 Chron 29-31;

Giving thanks in everything, we are commanded. It is:

1) a general command; 2) an impossible command; 3) how can we keep impossible commands. What should we lean on when faced with impossible commands? - the sovereignty of God, the faithfulness of God, the love of God. Lean on Him and the impossible command can be fulfilled.

Pride is bad if it’s to exult oneself above others and not giving credit to God for the gifts He gives us! The Corinthians had 1) a low view of scriptures (vs 6), 2) inflated views of self, and 3) distorted views of Christianity. Remember, the Bible is counter to every culture in the world.

1) The Enemy - vs 1-11. 9’9” tall giant ... are your problems that big?

2) The Delivery Boy - vs 12-30 He is a hero because he allows God to use him!

3) The Examples - vs 31-40 David exhibits confidence in the Lord! How many times has God saved YOU from your enemies/problems. But you can’t go to battle in someone else‘s armor. David chose his own as he went into battle by trusting in God to equip him along the way.

4) The End - vss 41-50 David relied on the Lord (vs 45-46). God is not limited in his abilities, which are far above worldly ones. God delivered Goliath into David’s hands. In the end God is the hero!

Relationship with God isn’t about doing, it’s about becoming! How will the choices you are making today affect you five years from now? Will you become a better Christian, more like Jesus? Can you become a new creation in the complete life transformation in Jesus? Allow yourselves to become more focused in Jesus! “Seek first the Kingdom of God”. Why? We are compelled by love!

God is wooing you back.

Read His words and heed them well.
