Making Disciples

To be a disciple of Jesus you must be committed to him above everything else. This commitment is not addressed only to a particular group of people but rather to all people. We must learn to love God more than our self-interests, our family, our jobs, etc. Our level of commitment must be greater than any other commitment in our lives. Unlike many people today, including many preachers who are only interested in large crowds, Jesus wasn’t interested in numbers. Large crowds didn’t impress him but what he wanted was totally committed people. Jesus doesn’t want crowds, he wants commitment!

If reaching the world is the destiny of the church, then we must think the right thoughts about how to fulfill that purpose. How do we perpetuate this apostolic message that we glean in the Word of God? How do we reach our city, the world right outside our door?
