Calvary Church Los Gatos

This week, Pastor Dale highlighted meditation as a deeply rooted practice in Christianity and a necessary tool for transforming information about God into experience with Him. He showed how meditation in communion with God is more rich and satisfying than the secular practice of emptying one’s mind.

This Sunday, Pastor Danny continued the series by redefining and reframing hospitality as a spiritual discipline. He illustrated how the Spirit transforms ordinary acts of hospitality into a powerful revelation of the Kingdom and family of God.

Silence and solitude are the foundation of Spirit-led transformation. For it is in the silence that the Spirit can meet us in our deepest fears and draw us deep into His peace and sovereignty. This week, guest speaker Dave Lomas taught us practical ways to build a discipline of silence in our age of constant noise.

On Sunday, Govind shared how prayer is a practical tool in cultivating the ‘reflective mind’ we defined last week. He encouraged us that building a rhythm of prayer amidst the chaos of life leads us deeper into intimate relationship with God, and a personal understanding of His heart.

This week, Danny challenged us to move from a mind governed by hurry, reactivity, and distraction to one marked by quiet reflection in the presence of God. For it is in this space that we experience the depths of knowing Him and find satisfaction for our weary souls.

This Sunday, Dale looked to the book of Job to highlight how encountering God and experiencing the wonder of His sovereignty and protection brings comfort in times of suffering which knowledge alone cannot offer.

Pastor Dale launched the series with an invitation to venture beyond the shallow realities of life and faith and to dive deep into the mysteries of God. He encouraged us that in the depths is a life of intimate connection with God which satisfies the deepest longing within us.

This week, Danny asked us to consider how powerful sin can be in our lives and communities when it goes unaddressed. He encouraged us embrace our unshakable hope and identity in Jesus, who set us free from the power of sin and shame.

The Mid-Year Review was a special opportunity to gather as one church and reflect on where God is leading Calvary. Following the vision shared at Night of Vision and Prayer, we came together to celebrate God’s faithfulness, share our progress, and remain accountable to the vision God has given us as we look ahead to what’s next.

This week, Pastor Dale took a closer look at the well-known story of the woman at the well to reflect on our thirst, and the deep satisfaction which Jesus freely offers to quench it.
