Paul exhorts the Roman Christians to have the mind of Christ in the minefield of Rome. He calls them not to follow the spirit of the age but to have renewed minds and thus be transformed into living sacrifices (Ro. 12:1-2). We must understand ourselves rightly if we are to live humble, other centred lives in community, and as citizens of heaven in an anti-Christian age.
In view of the mercies of God to sinners in the gospel expounded in chapters 1-11, Paul exhorts us to be living sacrifices. Christ who gives all for you demands all of you.
Are God’s promises to ethnic Jews relevant for the global church today? Even if you don’t know anyone of Jewish background, you should care about God’s promises given to Israel.
